I LOST MY PAYCHECK!!

YES, I DID!! Ohhh, do I feel stupid. I work 2:45p-11:15p. I came to work a few minutes early so that I could get my check, stuck it in my pocket and thats the last time I saw it. I DONT KNOW WHAT I DID WITH IT!!! I know I will get the money but its just so annoying! I will call HR in the morning if I every get to sleep and have them draft me a new one. Anyone else reading this who did the same thing?

Situations like this tend to happen to all at one time.

I loose my keys all the time. Once I left my mail box keys in the mail box, and the nighbour recognized it and brought it to me home, lol. I dont' know what's next, lol. Hope all will work out for you. Anna :)

Did something similar happen to you too Ron? I am less worried and more inconvenienced. I called HR this morning first thing and let them know. They put a stop-payment on the check and are going to draft me a new one. Anna, that was pure luck that your neighbor saw it first and was kind enough to bring it to you. I was bad about misplacing keys until I decided that I would not put them anywhere but my purse. And there they stay.

Of course I have lost important things, especially wallets; four times! Generally you get it back, but of course not containing everything. If you realise it immediately, it's not too much of a problem, like in your case. Maybe more careful next month? :-)

It happened to me only once, and I got the fish eye from the accountant when she had to re-write my check. I picked up direct deposit from that point on and have had it ever since (decades).

I had a co-worker who didn't report her paycheck as missing (it didn't arrive in the mail) for nearly 2 weeks. She did NOT want to go on direct deposit and she knew the accountant would immediately suggest that. LOL

She finally broke down and called to ask for her check to be re-written. Her original check showed up a week later in the mail, badly mangled, with one of those "we're sorry we did this" notes from the post office.

I reported it to my HR manager. She scolded me but in my case, its not so simple as getting her to draft me a new one. I have to wait 3 weeks for corporate office to send me another one. I made it a point to stick a checkbook (which almost no one carries anymore due to debit cards) in my purse so that I can enroll in direct deposit on Monday.
